I need to know the diameter of the VG30DE throttle bodies as I have a custom project in mind that might require them.

And MTcookson, whats up man! Its Alex_V from the org. What crazy VG project you have going now? Ever use that spool valve? I have a project that could use one and I need some more pics! Email me if you want [email protected]

I believe they are 51mm.

Mostly just trying to get the Z running with the VH right now but I do have a couple VG plans coming up soon. VG30ET powered 1986 Chevy Blazer 4x4 and a VG30ET powered Mazda REPU.

I never did get a chance to test that valve. I was originally going to put it on the Maxima but found that it was too rusted to be safe on the street. Got the M30 and was going to use it in that but after driving it for a while found that I didn't like the M quite as much so I'm going to sell it.

I'll probably try the valve out on one of the trucks but that will be a long while as I have a few other projects I need to complete first... way too much stuff to do.

VH45DE in a Z32? hmmm

On that note find me VK45DE valves....they need to go in my VQ35!

Im doing a crazy VQ swap in my s13, infact just today I got a new shell thats much less rusty then my old one. I know what you mean by not safe to drive.

Yup, VH45 in a Z32... I can't wait. Well, actually I have been waiting for far too long but haven't had the money nor time to get it together. I have pretty much all of the parts to get it running, but do need a few more things.

As far as VK valves, the most recommended place for Infiniti parts is from Joe and Infiniti of Scottsdale: http://www.infinitipartsusa.com however...

Exhaust Valves: $32.63 eachIntake Valves: $21.91 eachTotal: $872.64

My recommendation... go to http://www.car-part.com and look for some heads for a VK. Should be much, much, much cheaper.

A VQ into anything would be fun. Very light weight with tons of potential... doesn't get much better.

First, I apolgize if I am getting in on this thread too late and this is considered resurrecting.

I would say that they are too small (the 51mm ones). You are better off using 240SX or stanza throttles which are cheap, plentiful, and much bigger. Rememeber that the flow area = PI * r^2 - so when you increase your diameter by x, your crossectional area increases by (0.5x)^2! That square is killer... it makes the difference between

Two 51m throttle bodies = ~40.9 cm^2 areaOne stock 90mm TB = ~63.6 cm^2 area

So the potential flow, particularly under forced induction is much better (and with less heat). Granted, intake velocity might be improved in some ranges with the smaller throttles, but I think you should go to something like two 70-75mm for an upgrade that gives you the same flow cross-section, with better velocity than stock.

Here is a writeup on using Stanza/240SX throttles on the VG30DE/TT plenum. Warning, you may need to register. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/v...31443
