has anyone out there done a vg35de swap into a 280z yet? i have recently aquired the motor from an 05 infiniti G coupe and was wondering if it would be more cost effective to do this swap than an rb25. if not then i might just sell the motor.

some questions are:what did you do with the electronic throttle?what did you use for a rear diff?do you use the stock ignitin switch or do you typically swap that too?what about keyless entry?what kind of wheels do you use to afford for a wider tire? is a hub conversion nessicary?

im sure ill think of more...thanks guys!

are you asking about swapping into a 280Z (S30) or a 280ZX (S130) assuming you do mean S30, there is a guy doing the swap (his is a 240Z but it's the same in all the important ways) and adding a pair of turbo's, you can read up on his progress thus far here http://www.vq240z.com-a.googlepages.com/as for your questions, if it were me I'd run a TB from a car that used a throttle cable and ditch the stock electronic's key and all that garbage in favor of a stand alone such as megasquirt, and the S30's didn't come with power door locks althout there are kits available or you can make your own from junkyard donors but an aftermarket alarm keyless would be a LOT easier to get together, the diff is of little concern you'll just need a custom driveshaft (the S30 isn't as long as the Z33 regaurdless of what piniorn flange adn diff you use)and the manual trans 280Z's came with the R200, it's open but a long snout version of the R200 found in the Z33, and wide wheels for the S30 are out there you just gotta keep your eyes open, I believe with stick suspension and no flares the widest you can fit is 8" wide, coil overs and or flares will give you more room, if you convert to 5 lug wheels in the correct offset are easier to come by and the stock brakes suck so upgrading them while you're at is is always a good idea

if you were asking about the S130 most of the answers remain the same

and the RB comes with it's own set of challanges
