So, my 1986.5 Vg30i in my D21 truck has an expensive problem that I cannot justify spending the $$ to fix. The mixer heater, which is sandwiched between the throttle body and intake manifold is bad. It reads the oxygen intake from the ambient air outside and tells the computer what ratio the truck needs for the fuel air ratio. It works in conjunction with the 02 sensors and makes the truck sluggish when it is bad. It is $786.00 from the dealer. Of course, it is a dealer only item. Finding a used one is time consuming, and still aint cheap from the wrecking yards because they know what the dealer charges. So, does anyone know of an alternate fix for this?
