I'm currently in the process of putting a vg30et into another car, one problem is that I need to use a remote oil filter setup, but I have noticed on the 2 blocks that I have is that one has the filter directly screw onto the block, where as the complete engine that I am using in the car has a pressure bypass part bolt to the block and then the filter screws to it, but it has the pressure relief vlave built into it, where as the other engine has it built into the block.

What would happen if I took this bypass part off, didnt use the relief valve and bolted the remote adapter straight to the block?

That's odd... I've never seen one of those before on a VG.

If you don't want it on there I would just take the parts from the other block and put it on this block (adapter/threading and the valve). Maybe also make sure the oil pumps are the same in case some of the valving got moved out of the way.

Do you know what vehicle that engine came out of?

I found out that it is for automatic trans models, A remote oil cooler connects to it. I ended up just using a remote oil filter setup.

I think it's an 84 model 300zx, as the turbo is just oil cooled.
