I don't really know if this has been specifically covered, but I've searched and search (not just on here) and all I get is different guesses of numbers.

I've seen people say 320 lbs, A brochure that I found for a 300zx (87 I think?) said 392 lbs, and I found a guy who said over 500 lbs (now that was for a VG30DE-TT..but still)

Is there anyone out there who has exact weight of just the engine in its entirety??

No transmission, just complete engine (block heads pistons valve covers, intake manifold.)

If this has been done could I get a link please??

Thanks!!

I've never seen any actual data on the VG30E's weight... someone still needs to do it. If I happen to find any or have a chance to weigh it I'll definitely post it up.

Thats what I figured.

No big rush.

I was just arguing on a local forum about the VG being a great engine and wanted exact numbers but I think I made my point.

He was trying to cut me down and he was braggin up his s2000 but his engine only weighs maybe 50-70 more pounds than the number's I've found.

(F20c-320lbs, VG30e-392 lbs)

I found that on 88 hybrid I think.

Either way its close.

I know for sure the VG30DETT weighs 442.2 lbs:

with - oil and coolant, p/s bracket, all motor mounts

without - both turbos, water pump, timing belt and covers, flywheel, and one ignition coil

With both turbos it came out to 469.8.

The VG30E should definitely be quite a bit lighter than that.
