The engine in question is actually the VE30DE. The transmission bolt pattern is actually the same. I know for a fact that many have used the VE30DE 5-speed on a VG30E... however, I've not seen an auto transmission swap done yet. That's not to say it can't be done though.
I'm positive it will bolt up to the engine. The torque converter will likely bolt up to the VG flex plate (or they'll use the same converter). You can not use the VE30DE flex plate on the VG30E as the VE has an 8 bolt crank and the VG30E a 6 bolt.
Now, there's a chance the axles used will be larger than that used on the VG and if so... you'll need to swap to the VE hubs as well. I know that this was the case in the 5-speed swap.
Transmission computer wise... I would think they would be the same but I'm not positive. That's the only thing I can foresee being a problem, but I don't personally think it will be.
