I don't believe resetting the ECU will help as these ECU's don't really adjust for changes so to speak. If they were running low octane gas and the ECU picked up some pinging it would have adjust the timing but once you put in the higher octane gas it should switch back over. Its likely something else that is wrong like a bad sensor.
You can check the codes on the ECU to see if its seeing anything wrong. If yours is the same as the US ECU, turn the key to the on position, then you just turn the screw on the ECU clockwise and it will start flashing. It will flash up to 5 times for the different modes, you're wanting mode 3 (3 consecutive flashes). Once there, there should be a red light and a green light. The red light is for the 10's and the green light for the 1's. Say if the red flashes 4 times and the green flashes twice, that's code 42.
Some of the ECU's I've seen only have one red light and will do short and long flashes, long for the 10's, short for the 1's. So say for a code 33, it will look something like this: flash...flash...flash - pause - flash, flash, flash.
Now, if you do have codes and want to reset them you can unplug the batter for around 20 minutes from what others have said or better yet, you can go to mode 4 on the ECU. If I remember correctly once you are there, turn the key off for about 10 seconds, then turn the screw back counter clockwise and that would reset the codes.
