The only thing I've seen is the NA head isn't as thick as the TT.. you could compensate by using a thick head gasket.

The ports are bigger... but I have no idea what actual flow numbers are. I would think that they should be able to flow more for even more power... but we already know that the DETT can make some monster power so it may not make all that big of a difference.

yeah i found out that they flow more.still trying to figure out why someone would go though all that effort on a z32.i would say that the motor without the det heads still makes monster power.just greed i guess or an experiment? thanks for your response.

Yeah... I'm not sure I'd bother with it on a Z32. The ports may be bigger but I believe they're a different shape (round port exhaust vs. TT's oval port). Any aftermarket exhaust manifolds you got for the TT likely wouldn't work on the DET heads. Because of that I'm not sure I'd consider it much of an upgrade, at least not worth doing compared to modifying the stock heads. I guess it just depends on whether you'd want to get the heads ported or make custom manifolds.

yo,i have a motor with this mods.i dont wanna do it if thats what you thought. the motor has greddy TD06L2-20G, tomie procam and hks cams and cam gears ,tomie and fort racing(factory)ecu. custom exaust manifolds, sard 880cc injectors, det heads and modified ported intake.it has lots of internal work aswell GOD alone knows what else.

Ahh, I see. If that were the case I'd drop that in a Z32 any day. Another thing I should mentioned is that it would be very difficult to find a DET in the states so in your case it may not be all that bad of an idea simply since you probably have easy access to DET's.

yo,i had the whole car(car shop fort racing build drag z32) but it was a wreck so i pulled the motor.this is when my whole situation changed.i have 2 z32's one with a stock vh in (bought it about a month ago) and one with a vh45/56 stroker. i bought the wreck for parts for my other two. what i want to build is a car that can be taken around the world. i want to go to Bonneville,Nurberg ring and some drags in the USA. dont get me wrong i love the vh but this engine has made my dream a little bit more realistic. apparently with all those mods this motor should make 1000hp with a good tune.

Hmm... I don't believe you'd be able to see 1000hp with those turbos, I think around 900 would be pushing them. Also, you'd probably want to go with larger injectors to support 1000. I think the general rule of thumb for a V6 is roughly 1 hp/1 cc. Of course, the air/fuel ratio tuned to can alter that among other things but its generally a pretty close estimate without having to push the injectors too hard (abnormally high pressure and/or duty cycle).

Other than that, I bet internally it would probably do it just fine at that power output... that would definitely be unreal.

yo,i dont disagree with you. i assume thats the kind of power it makes cause theres a guy on z32power.com that has smaller injectors, same turbos, same cams that makes 822rwhp. this is apparently a comman way to make this kind of power. the main diffrence between my engine and his is the det heads and i have more aggresive exaust cams (hks 282). this motor was running at 22psi when i got it but it was leaking boost so i assume its boosted about 2 bar . the motor is at a rotory workshop now for inspection and most of the info i got by them.they told me it has det heads, was leaking boost and has modified trust/greddy w/gates(2bar spings?). i dont need that kind of power so i'll be running it at about 1bar so it can last longer.when i get it back i'll stick it in my car and see whatsup.

That's amazing... I'm surprised he was able to get them to flow enough for that kind of power. Could be a modified 20G I suppose. Either way... even it was "only" 800 or 900 hp... that would still be unreal

Good luck with it! Definitely post results.

yo, the TDO6H-20G and TDO6L-20G are the smaller ones which you may be thinking of,but the TDO6L2-20G are the big daddy of the 20G's. dont think that i'm acting like a know it all(i value your input) cause i know nothing exept what i reserched about this engine. i still need to find out what type of ecu it has. theres no name on it,i can take some pics of the ecu but the motors not here now when i get it back i'll post lots of pics. cheers

Ahhh, yeah... that would be it. I just glanced over it and saw TD06 20G, didn't read the L2 part of it for some reason.

man, it is hard to follow this thread. I'm really confused as to what you guys are talking about. VG's or VH's?

VG's. The VG30DET heads have slightly larger ports than the VG30DETT and, if I remember correctly, the exhaust ports on the DET are round instead of oval for the DETT.

yo,i 'm talking about a VG30DETT with VG30DET heads.i know it sounds confusing this motors backgrounds very confusing even experts think so.i had two VH45DE RUNNING IN TWO DIFFRENT Z32's but i have sold everything since i got this VG30DETT. yo,mtcookson the heads will be removed soon cause the intakes cracked and a stock vg30dett intake does not work as is. so the fuel rails, exaust manifolds, upper&lower intake and heads will be changed.i'm not happy but i just wanna get it in my car and driving. thanks for all your help.i'll be needing more real soon if thats o k.

Yes I am too aware that the head differences are in the ports. I just got confused with the VH45 talk....I'm very aware of the difference between a VG30DETT and VG30DET, and its not what confused me I don't get confused between VG's

I think some comments above by someone else was confusion stemmed from all the VG talk..they were talking about differences between the Z32 VG30DE and VG30DETT....which is not what is being discussed.

Aren't all the ports on the VG30DET round vs. Oval? The VG30DET wasn't the only one with the round ports, some VG30DE (naturally aspirated) such as the 300ZR and a C32's etc got it too...I'm not sure when and why the changed head styles. It couldn't have been a year thing because it seems like the two different types were made in parallel.I'm pretty sure all Z32's got the oval style port heads. Which other cars got the oval or round ones?

i think its better this way cause with those big ported heads, cams,'turbo's,icebox would make it a bit extreme for street driving. i'm using the turbo's, stock heads, stock fuel rails nismo injectors.still deciding on the cams and a trust FMIC.should still make lots of power?we'll see when its all done.
