I've decided going back to my 1st idea.Going to put the vg30dett in my project 240.Turboing my daily driver 1st.I know it's goin got be a pain in the *** and I got to relocate major components in the engine but it can be done. Anyone know what my best bet would be.Find a blown one and rebuild it or buy a low mile one.I tried searching here but can't find info I want. How much internals are good for etc. Just want some opinions On what I should do.Wanting 500+ hp.Thanx

Thinking what if I got the vg30de and built that motor.I'd have AEM EMS on it so basically it would be like turboing the KAT ,no need to rewire with the exception of making my gauges work but as for engine tuning it should run fine?

Yea it will.Besides it going to be used for drag. The KA-T or vert with sr will be used for turns.

can be done... but it is VERY BIG, i mean its hard enought working on the vg in a 300zx... they crammed that motor in there too

you would probably spend less money you put an rb in your car... and with less hassles since you can buy mckinney motor & transmission mounts, driveshaft, downpipe that mates to 240 exhaust, and have them do the wiring for roughly 2 G's

after driving my friends rb26 240, if i dont get to buy it, its still what i want to do with my next car....

if your hell bent on doing a vg30dett swap... then look into stillen and jim wolf, and when ive seen them in junkyards they are around $2k a front clip

that will be sick if its done right

you better set aside the summer for this one

and jsut so you know as it does with RB26 swaps, your going to lose the balance of the car completely. The motor is so damned heavy its almost not worth the sacrifice
