I am thinking about putting a vg30dett in my rx7. I have an idea of what the swap is going to cost but dont know if i should go with the z32 twinturbo insted what do you think. And what problems will i run into with the vg30dett when it gets older.

There isn't alot of room in the rx7 engine bay for a vg, but if you have the time and the tools you can do it.

As far as problems, you're comparing it with a rotary engine, so a hamster in a wheel on speed would cause you less problems than your wankle (which I presume is the reason you're swapping).

naw its just that im looking to do something odd. I have a na wankle now and its been good to me as long as i give it oil and take care of it. The vg powerplant is just my favorite. I have found a kit for the converson on grannyspeed.com and just wanted to know what nico people thought about it.

what year rx7? you referenced granny's so I assume forst or secind gen, I know a guy with a 2JZ in a secind gen, he used to have a buick 3.8T, and I've seen a few SMF and SBC conversions on first and second gens, the VG would be different but a huge PITA, honestly if yuou want a VG30DETT it's just easier to get a Z32, if you want a cool swap for a first or secnd gen 7, I'd stick to somethign n/a so you won't have to fart wiht the piping, I know a guy that did a VG30ET into a first gen 7 and he kept the motor stock with no I/C to avoid the piping, the turbo sat right next to the turbo, it actually rubbed sometimes
