Sup Nico members. Just to clarify, I know a lot of people are against this swap and are going to try and flame me for wanting to do this. But I don't care. I don't want the SR, VH, RB, VQ or any other motor. I'm set on the vg30dett. I'm not in a rush to complete this project so money isn't an issue. I know how to save. Now that that is established. I plan on installing this venerable engine into my 92' hatch. I want to retain the super hicas feature of my 240. I know that the turbo z32's also have hicas and was wondering if the steering pumps were the same. I want to make this the car that Nissan should have made. I haven't quite decided on the front end to convert to yet but I'm leaning towards the factory S15 front. :naughty: I intend to keep the motor mostly stock except for a few bolt-ons like a boost controller, and having a machine shop clean up the coolant passages in the block. I've already checked out the conversion mounts and drive shaft on http://www.xcessivemanufacturing.com. Pretty much everything i need I can buy there. I know the motor is wide but with my collision repair background I'll make it fit. This Is going to be an awesome build. Any positive insight is appreciated.

It'll be a few months yet cause I have to clean out the garage but it's too damn cold out so that will wait till spring. lol. but yeah I've been doing some research and it seems to me that the Vg30dett was Nissan's ultimate motor. A lil over engineered but what Nissan motor isn't? After I receive my taxes I want to find a z32tt that's been wrecked so I can strip it of all it glory! bwa hah hah ha. :domo:
thanks for the welcome. my name's Jamal.

Do etttt. "300SX". If you find a VG30dett, I'd freshen up the bearings, rings at least before you put her in!

I don't have the motor yet. I'll post pics of my car when I get home from work. my quarter panel is smashed from the previous owner. :tisk: freakin kid looks like Mclovin from Super Bad lmao. but it was $800 so whatever. I'm actually in the market for a clean hatch shell. the less rust the better. If its not a hicas that's fine, I'll swap the parts over from my car. I got nothing but time.

Swapping that Hicas system over is going to be a biaatch. A few people have done it here and it is not fun. They said they would NEVER do it again lol. Then bleeding that system is a monster. I'm not discouraging you just saying. ;)

I figured as much, but I'm fine with it. I've studying the system in my hatch for the last two years. It really isn't that complicated. Besides I want to replace all the hoses and refresh the system.

Is the S chassis wide enough for the VG-tt? I know that must be a weird question from me (vh45de) but I was pretty certain it was wider.

I'm not against it at all; I considered it myself. I wish you luck. As long as you don't cut corners it will work out. I often hear stories of NA Z32 guys who can't figure out their TT swap, lol. There are a sh*t load of people on here who would be willing to help out in any way they can, so don't be afraid to ask questions.

it should fit. While I've been researching this swap I actually came across a couple of people that completed the swap. I might have to dent in the fender wells a bit, but that's a small price to pay for a twin turbo v6.

My friend made no chassis or body mods and accomplished a twin turbo v8, anything is possible. That hicas will be fun too.

It's all about the handling :bigthumb: Awhile back when I was still driving my 240 I had a little "race" against a friend who has an ls MX6. For anyone who doesn't know the Mazda MX6's handling is awesome. I know, I used to have one. lol
We raced through some twisty roads in Stoughton and I was able to out maneuver and over take them! After wards I let them drive my car and now they want one. The super hicas equipped 240's are something special. I've driven one without it and I must say I prefer with. Although, its not for everyone and takes a bit to get used to it.

You're talking about hicas and vg30dett as if they are good things...Not to piss on your parade but are you planning on doing this yourself or paying someone to do it? You keep talking about time, but something like this requires skill, ingenuity and persistence...do you have?

They are good things. Do some research on the VG's history. You'll see why I want it. I do have experience with swaps. I've done a few hondas in the past. GSRs, K24 in a four door, turbo B16 hybrid.(12 valve block with a 16 valve head) single cam. Turbo B20 in a CRX. 5 speed swaps, and a collision repair back round. I'd say I got this covered.

The hicas 240 is one of my all time cars but I have not been able to find one, however I have had the rare pleasure of owning a hicas 300zx and I really want another one,but I have to make due with my bare bones awd gts type-m with none working hydra-locked engine,[sorry venting] many peaple don't like the hicas because it makes sliding sideways almost imposible without breaking something, the hicas's are compatable all u have to do is switch to AN fitings and lins

thank you jbracy7. The 240 can do more than just drift. its a great handling car. the hicas just makes this better. I want to create a track monster that is not just good on the straights but in the twisties as well. besides how many people can say they have two turbos in their 240? lol

there is actualy more room for them in a 240sx then in a 300zx. lol they look tiny in them. major down fall with this swap(that turned me away from it) is that for the money its just simply not worth it. COOL yes worth the hp/tq u get out of it no. i did some research myself. basicly anything ull need u can get from a j30. all the way up to the harness. also the subframe will not bolt up either. lots of custom fab work is involved BUT as u stated earlier u dont care so turbo spool away!

I googled it just to see what it'd look like, apparently it fits better than my CA18 cause there seems to be a lot of room left over. But most of the images I've seen are single turbo, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Alright, I'm about to resurrect this thread. First off I completely forgot about updating this as I have a detailed build thread on 240sxone.com. So there will be a lot of copy and pasting. Second, the car has been undergoing a complete restoration by me on my own. s*** expensive and takes time. It's been 3 years since I've driven this b****, but when she comes back out its going down lol.
