Forum doesn't have much traffic, but hope to get some answers.Thanx in advance.I've "heard" that the vg30dett is good for up to 650 on internals and also heard 450.I plan to put the vg in my 240sx.Are the TT and N/A engine exactly the same? My plan is to go to junkyard and find one then send it off to machine shop to be built to handle whatever I can bolt on it. Going to have AEM EMS on it.Being I'll have major upgrade Figured this would be my best option because goign to need new mani etc. Any opinions on do and don'ts?Also what is tranny capable over.Minimum power I want out of it is 600rwhp goal is 800rwhp but that might be a little too high.Thank you once again.

I will answer what I can but the HP capacities of the tranny is better left to the boost gurus.

The TT and N/A onternals are different so look for a TT unless you want to do an internal work along with aquring many externals for the turbo set up. The 450 you heard is not a VG30 engine, it is a twin turboed Q45 engine stuffed into a Z.

Well I'm building the engine. Are you saying that pistons and rods are weaker or the block and head are diffferent?Engine is getting all new parts and going to buy aftermarket everything.Don't want to let that stupid water pump mess up everythign cuz I chanced it.

I dont have a manual here at home to list the differences in detail. If I get a chance at work I will pull one out and try to determine all the differences though. I will post beack when I get them. The service manual doesnt spell them out, in other words there is no section that says " Here are the differences between these 2 set ups. So it will take some spec comparisons to figure it all out.

Are the sr20de and sr20det the same?Heard they are not but no explanation about it.t's same engine code except for TT setup but thought that was just bolt on and then ecu is tuned for it and maybe has larger injectors and better mafs etc.But the engine would be the same with exception of maybe higher comp and different cams.Take your time I'm no rush.

For oen ehres a good site that explains alot of info http://www.AshSpecZ.com hes a Z genuis. The stock TT internals (pistons rods) are good for 600hp the N/A and TT heads and blocks are identical except for the placement of the oil squirters. The N/A runs a 10.5:1 compression ratio to the TT's 8.5:1. The ECU and wiring harness are the same except the N/A's cant run the stock integral wastegates with a boost controller everything works out perfect. the trannys are good well for right around 900hp. The N/A and the TT trannys are the same and are interchangeable. For your 240sx id also grab a N/A 300zx rear end its just as strong as the TT's and will bolt right in instead of having to swap subframes around and A bunch of other ****(if that would even work). Also on the AshSpec website his ECU's create more power then JWT's for half the cost. also keep in mind that http://www.300zx.com which is Z1 motorsports has the largest Z32 junkyard youll ever find so give them a call if you cant find what you're looking for somewhere else. Though sometimes they are pricey on there used parts. Hope this helps a little.

Yeah, and I coulda sworn i put http://www.zcar.com in that thread since they/we tend to be nicer then alot of the guys on TT.net. Anyway keep up with the project and if you need parts ive got a quite a few good sources.
