I am pondering the idea of buying a VG30DETT motor for a project car I am soon to embark on, and was wondering, How much HP can this engine block handle? What are the weaknesses/strengths of the engine block, rods, etc.?

Whats the most HP you guys have seen or gotten out of your VG motor, without MAJOR motor modifications, i.e., Reworked engine block.?

I know youve prolly been asked 'what did you smoke this week?' questions all the time, but i just want HP/Torque info on highest you guys have seen.

Thanks.

I'm prolly gonna push for no more than 500 at most, so that sounds good to me

The power capability is endless for those motors. Way back in the day when Nissan way overbuilt the motors. I've heard of numerous 800WHP cars.

a lot

Beyond a certain point though...say 500hp...I gotta ask.. "why build such a powerful car and not build the motor?"

Speed = $$$ How fast can you afford to go?

600rwhp is generaqlly where the stock block with internals is considered good till. Major weakness in the motor is the rod bearings.

This sounds good too me.Think I'm going to do my VG swap, and buy another motor and build it.Then once it's ready I can pull again then just drop in with no modifications needed. Think I would go crazy having an engine sitting there capable of 800hp and can't get it to fit.
