Has anyone done the VG30DETT into the S13 chassis here? I'm looking for info on the swap.

I have an 89 204SX. The original engine was a KA24E and we swapped out for the SR20DET. It has been in this configuration for a few years now, and now we're wanting to do a swap for theVG30DETT. We have the engine from a JDM 300ZX.

The project will start this coming week, and as with most things, we expect to run into bottlenecks. If there is any documentation here on the forum or if there is someone who did the swap previously, I'd like to see it and/or talk with the the person.

Thanks!

I've seen pictures of the swap and yeah, it does look tight, but I know it will work. I will be doing pics and post as the work progresses.

I think someone on F.A. did a write up on it not sure. I do know i read you need to notch the subframe and use a front sump j30 oilpan. hope that helps some.

You need to relocate everythign inside your firewal.Everything goes under your dash. House is being sold next month. Then we are moving. If we move and stay then shop will be up by may and my vg will arrive then. Got money in the bank to do it, just ain't got enough time to complete the swap being I have to move. Make sure you got a grinder, welder and some steel plates.

Thanks brothers 4 the info! We heard that we'll have to use the J30 oil sump pan and notch the subframe. Hiding everything in the firewall- yeah, the brake master cylinder and stuff. I'm recommending Tilton and some stuff from Pegasus Auto Racing up in Wisconsin to help us replace the stock pieces.

This is gonna be a fun project, but a definite learning experience. Will keep you all posted with pics and progress. The current engine and drivetrain is gonna be removed 2nite.

Again, thanx bros!

Fukkin' car loader dudes fukked up our front end trying to load the car on their brokedik loader. They said they just finished loading a Lambo. Yeah, right. We shoulda asked them if they damaged it, too. Oh well, got a "correct" loader and took the car to the garage. Work starts on removing the SR and the stuff we won't need. Took our measurements of the S13 with the Z32 front clip sitting side-by-side. It's gonna be tight, but nothing a good saws-all, bar stock and some ingenuity can't handle. The goal is to retain all of the working factory features and cancel nothing. After we have it like that for a while and get used to it, then we'll start doing the aftermarket crap.

It's become a mission to not fail with so many people watching, but we'll get there. It's gonna be evil!
