I recently got the wife a car, its a nissan cedric Gran Tourismo ultima s.

It has a 255ps VG30det (single turbo) auto. I was hoping you guys could shed some light on the turbo set up. Like what turbo can be used for upgrade and or how much boost i can get out of the stock turbo and how much can the motor hold. I am new with the VG's. All i can find is about NA and TT VG so I hope some one can help. oh and it is all stock except for a drop in filter and exhaust and now lowered. It actually cant go over the curb in the pic.

I will post some pics.

I'd assume that it uses the standard nisan T3 .63 ar, nissan did use a T25 with the vg in the states and i seem to recall hearing about some use of the T28 in foreign markets, the T4/04E .63 a/r with the 57 trim compressor is very popular upgrade on the VG's this side of the pond and it's good for 450 whp or there abouts

the VG30ET is the single turbo, the VGDETT is a twin turbo

VG=engine series which happend to be a "V"6 30= displacement, aprox 3.0 liters or 3000 cc'sD=Dual over head camsE=electronic fuel injectionT=TurboT=second "T" indicates a "Twin Turbo" motor

works the same with the RB26DETT or the RB25DET, or the KA24DE, or the CA20, or the CA18DET, etc...

Supposedly vg30det's come with 550cc injectors stock. Also, from my understanding they have slightly larger exhaust ports than vg30dett's, and as a result the head flows better than the dett stock for stock. Also, according to some Aussie Skyline forums, the DET turbos should have a steel turbine, rather than ceramic. If this is the case, on yours, they are supposedly safe to as much as 17-18psi.

That is an AWESOME car, I wish they sold them here, I think that's the classiest sedan Nissan has ever produced, bar none.

Are those VS-XX's or Advan Siennas?

Oh, and nice name, lol.

EDIT: Hand on, you're in California? Are you legally driving that car in CA??

Thanks for the reply guys. I will continue to search for the info. Oh and i actually really like this car. I am surprized at me liking a 4 door sedan. I know its the wifes but I just ordered a boost gage to see what stock is and then boost it up some. If something blows i know where some more motors are. The rims are Work rims not sure which model though. I bought this car for the wife because we just had a kid but it may be another toy of mine. If i could bring this back I would, I really like it. Thanks again.

If they're Work rims, then they're VS-XX's, aka the "King of Mesh". Probably the nicest Japanese mesh wheels in existence, and my favorite VIP wheel. Can we get some more pics of the car? Interior, engine bay, etc...? We don't get to see cars like this too often.
