I am having mine polished or possibly powder coated. It costs a lot of money to have someone do the tear down and reassembly so I bought a complete plenum off ebay for $60 + $25 shipping. For $85 I have a model I can look at while I reassemble mine. Once it's done, I can throw it back on ebay and get my money back.

I have used this technique several times for "scary", complex assemblies.

Im not disassembling it, Im just taking it off to get to the knock sensor. But either way, I think that it wasnt nessesary to have that many hoses.. haha

i don't know if there is a write-up anywhere but i had a prob with mine and at ultimate z they simply did a knock sensor relocation -- no need to remove plenum and fight those hoses -- took them about 15 minutes or less
