after mucking around on saturday i have come to the conclusion i have to run a adaptor rather than welding the bellhousings for 3 main reasons... the 1st /3 clutch plate isnt meshing with input shaft. the vg30 starter dosnt have enought offset for ring gear (to close to engine) and the input shaft itself hits back of crank before its far enough in.. so it at least needs a good 10mm crank spacer
in reality i think ill need a good 40mm crank spacer & a 20mm adaptor enough clearince to mesh on starter good enough.. i also need to make sure triple plate is meshing properly on all the plates
does anyone have the base specs on thicknesses of the z32 adaptor/spacer, the spacer looks thicker than adapter.. buy how much?do i run the tin backing plates witt adaptor iswell?ill just use mild steel, plasma cut. and ill get someone to do bolt holes.ill prob make it solid below the crank seal, to act as a cover iswell.
ill use a damaged sr vg vh crank for the spacer, to save machining costs, re drill bolt holes (reomove tread). hopefully this offsets flywheel enoughany help will be good
