tonight i raced a nonturbo 06' impreza with a good intake and exhaust and beat him in my 96', and i must say i didn't expect it at all considering j30's are heavy as hell and aren't meant for going fast at all

What's so hard to believe? The Impreza is a whopping 173 hp/166 torque going through AWD which eats up bunches of power.

His exhaust and intake are only good for a few ponies.

An '04 Impreza RS manual takes 8 seconds to hit 60, auto is maybe a second slower, right in line with the J30.
