i have seen that older forums from 2003 say that it is not possible to boost the naturally aspirated v6 of the z31 but we are in 2021 so i was wondering if it is possible and if anyone here has done it what steps are involved. how did you go about doing things? how reliable is the car after. how risky is the whole operation

Sorry not much activity here, but honestly I have lived with 84' NA since it was brand new. Of course in 1984 this car was pretty fast, today a 6 cylinder Camry can school me in a straight line, but there are just not a lot of good bang for the buck mods unless you just decide to do a Turbo swap. Unless your completely in love with your current NA and want to go through the pain of the swap, just make your current ride as good as it can be. Find a nice cat back exhaust, do a cold air intake and most important get it running at peak to what it can do. I did that and then mostly made the car handle much better, that is easy, lower springs, good shocks/struts, larger sway bars, poly bushings, front strut brace bar, some bigger (not crazy big) rims and some top quality sticky tires. While this car will never be fast, it will be quick and fun to drive.

If you really want power, dump the NA and buy a Turbo there are much more options to get that to be more modern powerful.
