I'm buying a 510 witha VG30 in it and wondered what could be done to get more power out of it. the seller says it gets 250 to the wheels, i don't fully believe him though, any of you old school 300zx guys know what could help. i actually would be pretty happy w/ 250 to the wheels if that were true. it currently has headers, adj cam gears, and a j-spec engine and ecu.he put and ex-terra manifold on it but is giving me a 200sx short runner manifold. anyone specialize in these engines?

the stock N/A VG made 160 at the crank, I know a guy that got headers full exhaust, ported intake, adjustable cam gears, ecu and put 160 to the wheel! unless this car has a turbo he's full of crap, the only way I know to get close to that from an NA would be a ful on ballance anbd blueprint, don't believe claimed hp unless he has dyno sheets, if he believes his number make him take it to the dyno if it's 250 you pay, if it'slower he pays, see if he'll put his money where his mouth is

there is a fully built z31 vg30e owned by a speed shop mechanic around here (unnatural inc.) with 267 to the wheels with a 50 spray of go-gas. without gas i think it was 240. but anyways, he runs it with a dumped exhaust behind the wheel in the wel, sounds like a z should :P yes ive seen the dyno sheet and no i have no idea what he has done to it. i highly suspect a boring/ stroking because it sounds a ****load bigger than the vg i have in my car (and mine dumps out the header(leaking exhaust)

what's funny is he switched from a straight drag-setup 350 small block with a turbo popping out of the hood (ran a 9.6) to this lapping machine.

it will reach your goal for about 2.5 times the price it would be to swap a vg30et or vg30det into it and go for boost. heck, it would still be cheaper to turbo it and build the internals. if you really want it man, go for it, a 250 hp n/a vg30e would give me goosebumps.

maybe he meant 150, which i guess wouldn't be too bad in a 510. it may just have to be engine swap time, although... 250 at the wheels would give me goosebumps too.
