VG30/33 Carb Conversion

Postby Okiefromwatonga » Sun Dec 29, 2013 8:23 am

Ok, so not only am I new to the forum but i'm recent rejoin to the Nissan family with the purchase of a 1985 720 ST KC 4x4 . In the past I owned a 77 280z 2+2, 1989 240SX and then more recently a 73 240z. What I'm wanting to do is replace the Z24 in my 1985 Nissan 720 4x4 with a VG30/33. But I want to be different and carb it. The largest hiccup I can see right now is ignition, I could theoretically hook the factory dizzy up independently and just run it without any advance, and to get it running that wouldn't be bad, but I am wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how I can go about getting an advance curve through maybe an ignition box like a MSD or something like that.
