has any one ever seen/heard of any vg swaped into the 2nd gen maxima. it is rear wheel drive and has a huge inline six. would it clear the stut towers. i know a rb would fit but my client doesnt have rb money. mainly im asking are there any mating problems with the trans/tunnel i plan on leaving it auto. or would swaping the engine w/trans be easier. this will be a old skool vip type ride. so high power is not important just want more than the 89rwh it came. with motor is ceased. thanx a bunch ATX

Scrap the VG and look at a VQ from a 350z/G35. If people can fit a 350ci V8 into a 240sx, a VQ can fit into a 910 series Maxima.

Just for clarification:If it's RWD, it is not a 2nd gen. That was the first gen. 2nd gens came with VGs stock and were FWD. What year is it?

VQ or VH would both be very fun motors in a first gen. The VQ especially so, since you'd save on weight and move the weight toward the center of the car. VQs are very easy to come by.

Other fun options are the RB (like the 3.0 you found) or Toyota 2JZ.

The engine bay is pretty roomy on those cars, so you shouldn't have a problem fitting any of the above in there.

I'm not familiar with jhot. Try posting a thread in General Chat asking for opinions. If you're nervous about the purchase, pay via paypal/credit card so you can file a dispute or a chargeback if things go badly for you.

You may also want to consider doing something with the stock L-series. If the block and head are salvageable, there's still a lot you can do with it.
