the thick washer goes against the bracket on the shaft, then the flat dished plate goes against that, then the small washer, then the pulley then the plate with a step in it then the nut.

so then just disregard the inner plate not being there? i had the original idler pulley on the car (didnt have the 'inner plate') and i bent that one, so i ordered anotehr one and that didnt have the 'inner plate' either, so i can run w/out one riht?

some had the inner plate some didnt . It all depends on the design of the pulley. If the plate is steped in the middle it goes on the outside.

right, but if thats the case, then going by the way you're telling me to do it, i have: Bracket-thick washer-thinwasher-pulley (w/ step facing bumper)- plate (fitting snug onto pulley)- then the nut?? why would i have 2 washers back to back?
