Hi! I have a '95TT that's all stock except for shocks (no longer adjustable), muffler, and wheels. I've spent a few fruitless hours reading up in forums and guides to figure out what tire sizes to get, so I'm hoping someone can provide a little advice.

The wheels are Enkei Bortex RPM2 18x8 +35 and 18x9 +38 offset.

I bought this car with Potenza RE760 225/40 on the front and Potenza S-04 255/35 on the back (I guess the previous owner wanted to save a few bucks). The owner before that had 235/40 and 265/35 Toyo Proxes T1s, and also 225/35 and 245/35s. Before that it had 235/45 and 285/40 Nitto NT555s.

When I go on TireRack.com, where I've bought tires in the past, the recommended combo is 245/40 and 275/35 across the board. With so many different tire size combinations on this vehicle, and knowing very little about all this, I'm pretty baffled. The 300zx wheel fitment guide wasn't much help, recommending only 285 in back.

I do city driving in San Francisco plus some twisty roads and highway. It's possible I'll do a little autocross here or there, but don't need anything extreme/specialized. I'm leaning toward trying out Pilot Super Sports, but may get S-04's again, or settle for RE760 if my budget's too tight. I'll be grateful for any help or advice you can provide!

www.rimtuck.com
with the use of this site you can figure out exactly how big you can go with your specific offsets and even get to see how it looks.

This site lets you dial in different sizes.

Personal Opinion: PSS or nothing, Michelines rule the world.

Thanks! Hadn't seen rimtuck before and it seems like a great resource (would love to see how the different combos look), but it didn't contain any info for my specs, sigh!

Sometimes you have to look through all of the submissions and find thing that are close like instead of +35 offset you find +32 and go from there.

I'm running a set of 18" stock g35 rims with Pilots on my 90 NA. They are 235/40r18s in the front and 265/35r18s in the back. The tires will make you feel like you are cornering on rails. Best tires bar none for the car, next to dedicated racing tires. One word of caution... These tires stick, but they are tires. When you do push them past the limit and they let go, you'd better be skilled at skid recovery. If you aren't, you WILL be going for a helicopter ride. The Pilot Super Sports grab that well.

I downsized my rear tires from 285/30 to 265/35s. I found that in wet weather the car was a little squirrelly when I hit larger puddles.

Hope that helps.

Very helpful, thanks so much! I'm leaning toward 235/265 for sure. And with all I've heard about the Pilots, I'm going to have a reallllly hard time getting anything else. Especially since it seems like they perform better AND last longer than the Bridgestones....

PS2 and PSS are amazing tires, I have a set of PS2s on my 540 and the only time I have ever lost traction slideways is when I forced the skid, absolutely amazing tires, will be going with PSSs on the Z32 once she's ready to roll.
