Alright I know most of you are going to think I am insane for even considering this but here it goes. I own a 1993 Nissan 240 SX SE. I want to put a ford V8 302 into it, and was wondering if the stock 5 speed manuel transmission will bolt up, if not what kind of a transmission would you recommend.

Email him, bro!

But to answer the first qestion... NO I don't believe there's a snowball's chance in hell that the bellhousing will match up. You'll need a Ford transmission. If I were you I'd go the GM route... Aries already has the project mapped out and all the parts are available.

hmm.. just buy buy a mustang parts car with a good engine and transmission (t-5) and just swap everything over, you'll have everything you need in the car already. you might need a custom hood though.

how fast is aries car? anyone know?

yeah, you have everything you need with a parts car.............. except all the custom crap thats involved with putting a V8 in to a car intended to only have a 4 cylinder.

i think aries put over $28,000 into his car for the V8, so if you dont have that kind of money dont even bother.

Actually, several companies already make kits for the Ford 302. SInce the oil pump is located in the front of the pan, there is almost no modification necessary short of transmission and motor mounts. The stock transmission in your S13 will not work however due to the difference in sizes of the two flywheels. You will need to get a T5, T45 or T56 transmission to use in the car.

Also, the ford motors are significantly heavier, so be forewarned that the car will not steer nearly as well, and routing powersteering is near impossible.

feel free to email me anythime at [email protected]

*edit* I know my spelling sucks. You try crawling out from under a car to answer a post ;)
