Hi All,

It's been a while since I've posted, I hope everyone is well. I'm writing to ask a question. My Q70 has about 98k. It's a 2015 model. This evening when I was driving I noticed a very subtle siren type of sound when I apply my brakes. I remember on the Q45 I had there was an indicator that triggered a light on the dash when the pads were worn down and needing replacing. On my QX4s there's nothing, if you don't keep an eye on them they would just grind into the rotors! Is the Q70 equipped with something that causes this light siren sound when the brake pads need replacing?

Thanks in advance and I LOVE NICO!

Cheers,
Danny

If your brake fluid gets low you (due to low pads and piston being pushed out more) will get VDC, TCS and ABS light I believe.

Your Q70 probably doesn't have pad wear sensors like the Q45, but virtually all late model Nissan/Infiniti brakes have noisemakers on the pads which rub on the rotor when the pads get thin and make a squealing or screeching noise. Get the pads checked, that may be what you're hearing.

That’s what I thought. I’ll keep it parked until I can pull the wheels.

I have a similar issue with my 2012 m37x. I replaced all the rotors and pads on all four corners a few weeks ago and the last couple of weeks I have been hearing an intermittent low pitched howl noise when I break. Almost sounds like a very low note on a flute playing. But it is very subtle. No performance issues however. I used powerstop pads and rotors.
