Im building a head to go along with my built block. Its going to be a fully built head. Here is my prollem, the head that i have does not have the cam caps. I have cam caps from an sr20de, now if i use those cam caps and get a line hone am i completely in the clear? Like will it be like bran new with the line hone or is there still a possibility of somthing negetive happening.

Im jost worried is this head will be used and abused revving passed 9K RPM constantly so i wanna make sure.

I would try to find a set of the cam caps that go on it and measure for clearance. Since they don't require a bearing, I'm not sure how much material you can have removed.

If you get a set of a DE, after you line hone it, you will have to check the clearance of the inner diameter of the cam cap versus the outer diameter of the camshaft journal. If you're within spec, you're good to go.

Yep, just make sure you torque them down properly before you measure.
