My I30 is very hard to start. You have to crank and crank and it kicks back on the starter. Eventually if I keep trying it will start. Once running it runs flawlessly. I have replaced cam sensor, both crank sensors, PCM, plugs, wires, fuel pump and filter, cleaned mass air flow, and all O2 sensors. I've computer scanned the vehicle and got code P1105- "MAP-BARO switching valve -circuit malfunction", which is the little vacuum selenoid, but that shouldn't effect cranking. Thanks for your help ahead of time.

Welcome to NICO and congratulations on posting in the correct forum.

No other intake path or fuel system maintenance?

Not being familiar with the VQ, I can't help but wonder if the barometric sensor failure might be to rich? Check for dilution of oil with gasoline.

If so, your cylinder walls would be washed and your engine would have no compression.

Have you had the transmission out lately? Sometimes when a transmission or clutch is replaced, corrosion between the engine and transmission bellhousing can cause a bad starter ground that sounds like the symptom that you are describing. The starter will "kick back". Also you replaced the crankshaft position sensor. There is a metal bracket that if on the wrong side of the sensor will cause the gap between the sensor and the flexplate to be too large. This will also cause the "kick back" symptom.
