I had a bad rear heater hose, fixed it and coolant seemed to stay at max line in resevoir. yesterday it decideds to start going down again! looked under car and checked for any coolant leaks and saw none. So now i think it might be a blown HG, but its wierd cuz all the forums i been reading have said there was overheating problems, but my temp gauge is always a bit over the second hash line. One time i reved the car up and saw white smoke come out after i replaced that heater hose.

I'm going to see about running a compression test. But tonight when i got off, i went ot my car and filled the radiator up to top with collant then started the car and the collant started to pour over the opening then when i revd the motor from engine bay it came out more.

I also think it could the be the water pump (but then again, shoudn't the motor be overheating?) b/c the block around the water pump is wet looking. but now as i write this i think i should try changing out the temp sensor and see what happens. I'm really confused

Mods: Stock boost on sr20det, fmic, koyo radiator, nismo thermastat, apexi gt exhaust. only one local parts store colling fan (could this be causing mysterious leak)???

one good way to check for a head gasket leak is to remove the radiator cap and crank the car up when cold...if you have a blast of coolant coming out then your head gaket is popped. reason for the blasting of coolant is the combustable gases are entering your cooling system and thus coolant can enter your combustion chamber and cause it to smoke. generally when this happens , it makes ALOT of smoke.

But odd part to that is i didnt see any white smoke and today i reved to 6.5k and no noticible white smoke came out.
