vert top question

My top is holding puddles when it rains, and is stretching the canvas. I noticed when dry there is slack on the sides by the doors. My question is, is there a way to adjust the top to make it tight again. I can get a picture if it would helpthanks

Remove K5566 and pull the top to the front and put it back on. It's easy if you drop the top half way. If you pull too much, you will give too much stress on the top, so be careful.

You will find some silicone in that area, so be carful when you pull it out. Again, you have to pull to the front just about right.

Also, you should treat your top with some sort of convertible top weatherproofing. I use 303 High Tech Fabric Guard.

ive look every were for something like that, around were i live, i think i have to order it online. Ive seen some online for about $30, but they want another $20 for shipping because it being a chemical i guess. Thanks for the info.

The 303 convertible top kit is $20 online with about $8 shipping. Try ebay, search for "303 kit".

Unless i read the chart wrong the k5566 seem to be the inside part of the top. I also tried to remove the plate that looks like its for the top but it seems to be glued on and i did want to pry it off, if its not the right plate thanks for your help

My top was like that - it pooled when it rained and flapped as I was driving down the highway. I redyed it with Renovo and treated it with the 303 kit, and after it dried, it tightened up.

hey thanks for all your help. Im going to try using that. I just got home from basic training, and i start school monday, an looking for a job. Money is to tight to buy the treatment. As soon as i do ill post it to let you know if it worked.thanks again

Your mileage may vary. Try doing what 94 suggested, too. It's free if you can figure it out.

after you tighten it, get the weatherproof/water repellent stuff. i get mine from NAPA it's called "starbrite" in a red pump bottle... it takes me 2 to do my top but im super thorough. oh, and they might have to order it, it's for boat canvas tops.
