Garage.

Also, if you go somewhere, leave the top down.

Don't put anything worth stealing inside, and get a good alarm.

I'm ripping ALL my stereo gear out of my vert - Dumb to have it there in the first place..

What if you don't have a garage (sob...I know...by don't cry for me, nico-gentina!!!)

I agree with the AZ - PUT THE TOP DOWN. For those of you on this forum who replaced their tops like me, you know as well as I that I'd rather get my stereo stolen...or have soda splashed in my whip then get my top cut up.

Take it from a guy who has owned two verts...that is the way to go.

Now all this is applicable if you are afraid to get items stolen from the car...by way of damaging your top...

If you are afraid of just the car getting stolen - and being that you have it a vert, you think it is a easy target...well then, sorry to tell you...but if a guy really wants your whip, he is gonna get it. Take it from a guy who has got his ride stolen, twice! **** happens I say....

What I do is basically overkill...more as a deterrent. I got an alarm, a removable steering wheel, TheClub, and a whole bunch of friends around town who recongize my whip. That's the best I can do...

Oh, and my stereo is tie wrapped like a mofo from the inside...so if a guy wanted to take that...he is gonna have to work for it.

Not that i would know, but most antitheft products/ideas are worthless. The club can be removed with a bic pen in 15secs. Alarms can be disabled by pulling the hood release in the wheel well and opening the hood and clipping the siren wires before entering. Steering wheels aren't hard to come by, but thats only if they intend on driving it. I saw a civic in a guarded lot once that had (sic) "tank you" scratched on the hood, resting against an empty shell. The papar said they only had a 15min time frame when the guard went to the bathroom. But i regress..I agree with hitman, the best way is to not have anything worth stealing. If its only cutting the top your worried about I would get a decent alarm with an obvious blinking led and sensitive proximity or bump sensor. THe guys who steal the stuff from inside the car only are doing it out of opportunity and will go for the easy targets first. If its the car your worried about you need a garage or a guarded lot. I've lived in a rough part of cleveland for 4 years now and had friends loose 3 cars, one of them twice. I have an alarm in my integra and put it in a guarded lot and other then people calling the bluff of the warning led I've been spared. My vert had its stereo stolen before i bought it so i haven't had to worry about it yet.Good luck!

most people recommend a removeable steering wheel, a fuel pump shutoff switch, and a battery disconnect. if you park close enough to work you work/live get a 2 way paging alarm and a concealed carry permit.

if a determined theif wants your car there is not much you can do, but the steps above are your best bet.

If I am going to be away from my car for a while I put the top up and put a car cover over it, but basically I usually leave the top down. I'm not that worried about someone breaking in and stealing something.. I don't have a radio. most of my anti theft modifications are more towards not having the car stolen. if a vandal steals a head unit or even rims or something that would suck but they are replaceable, I just don't want to lose the whole car.

put a daewoo badge on it, that should keep it where you parked it.
