Ok, I haven't been on the forum much for a while, but today marks a day of my intentions to begin the rebuild of my vert. Why today? Because today I took the insurance off the car because I'm going to tear this baby down this year (as soon as I get my lift installed which should be in a few weeks hopefully). I bought another car yesterdasy to replace the absence of the 240, so I'm going to have fun with that for a while. (Will post pics of that car after I get it home today.)

Why have I been MIA? Some may ask, others couldn't care less... but it's because in late 07 my house caught fire. it needed a complete rebuild and it was a very tragic time for me due to some irreplacable losses. It took a loooong time to get the house done and I'm still not completely done. My claim ends in the fall and then it's over.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to tearing my vert apart and making it nice again. I'm going to customize it of course, but it's going to be mostly done by me by hand with some unique twists... well, I'm going to attempt these twists... we'll see how it turns out.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I'm still around. I probably won't have an update for a while because before I install the lift, I need to coat the garage floor with epoxy. I need to rent a "pod" and load it up with the stuff in the garage, coat the floor, then load everything back in the garage. then the lift goes up. So, even my garage is a WIP.

So please stay tuned........

Thanks Dex, that's very nice... I splurged this week on something to take the place of the vert while it's off the road... here she is:

The way I see it, after the hell I went through in the fire, I earned it, so the furniture can wait!

Sorry to hear about the fire. I am officially jealous of your new daily, especially if it has a targa top. Can't wait to see the updates.

Unfortunately it's not a targa... this is a 1991... the first year... the targas are wicked expensive. Way too rich for my blood at this point in my life. I think before I'd spend 45k on a targa, I'd get an F355 vert instead for 50k.

This car has some nice add-ons. Racing suspension, racing brakes, swaybars, racing harnesses, braided lines, JDM 2nd gear in the trans (custom), aftermarket intake and exhaust, and I got it from the original owner with only 51k on the clock. Brand new tires too... It's getting the timing belt done and a full detail very soon.

Who are you kidding? You're not even going to want to drive the vert anymore now...

So not true. With the suspension I have, I think the vert handles just as good as the Acura... in some ways I like it better so far. Also less fear driving the vert... lol! The Acura has a very different feel to it and a much different excitement. I could easily just sell the vert and have one less project on my hands, but I just like to too much to get rid of it.

Plus, I LOVE having the roof open on a car. A hardtop is still a hardtop and can't replace the magical feeling of my vert. Once I get the vert fixed up the way I like it, it's going to be as tight as the Acura.

Now, if I ever get an F355 Spyder... well, I'd say you might be right... but I doubt that'll ever happen!

congrats on the nsx, nice car indeed. I drove one a few times, their rear suspension felt loose though in corners

Thanks. Haven't experienced that yet as I've been driving it with care since it's due for the timing belt job. But if the rear is loose on a stock car, I doubt I'd ever know since this one already has highly modded suspension.

BTW- I need to clear out my garage one weekend to coat it in an epoxy coating. Then I can have the lift put in. Anyone who's interested in helping will be guaranteed premium lift time in my garage. Any takers?

Well, you'll all be happy to know that the vert actually handles better than the NSX. So far, I am not as impressed as I thought I would be when comparing the two cars handling abilities. Both cars have modded suspension too. When I spoke with the guy at the dealer (who has 2 NSX's) he admitted that the 240 will out handle the NSX and that the 240 is one of the best handling cars in the world!

I can't wait to get started on my tear-down and rebuild...
