I know the vert needs to be in park for the top to go up and down. Well, since it's going to be manual soon, I need to know what wires I need to hack to make it always appear to be in park so I can still put the top up and down. Bart, I know you know but my internet is being real flakey at home so I can't get to AIM to ask ya. Feel free to post it up here though :D

bart to the rescue!!!

Stand in front of your car and look at the left side fuse box. There will be three harness plugs on it that are for all the auto transmission sensors and stuff. The second plug is called the inhibitor switch, and you want to splice the ground wire to the park wire. The ground wire is a green/blue and the park wire is a brown wire. Just cut them from the harness plug and get a butt connector to connect them together. Also, with the manual conversion, you'll need to hook the reverse wire (green/white) to the green/blue wire as well. So you'll end up having two wires spliced to the green/blue wire.

Yes - used the email thing on here since I didn't know it. I asked if your Vert FSM had a diagram of the door and if so, could you send it to me.

Nah, I wanted to see if the B pillar thing was bolted on or welded or what. Just wanted to see how different the door was internally when compared to a regular 240 door.

Alrighty then! Here's the diagrams in the book.

I was too lazy to scan it, but not too lazy to use the digicam :)

I was fairly certain before I looked, but the book confirmed what I thought. The doors were specifically built to incorporate the B-pillar, so they're not bolt on or weld on. You could in theory take a 240 coupe door and the vert door to someone and ask if they can combine the two. The only problem is that if you use a normal 240 door, you will loose about 4 or 5 pieces of bracing and reinforcement that Nissan put in the doors.

On the plus side, it would be a good time to consider a 4 pt harness if you decide to lose the B-pillar mounted 3 pt belt.

Doh..Well, I'd really like to keep my vert doors if possible. I'll have to take the door to a body shop to see if they can't do anything with it. If not, back to tracking one down to buy.

there was a guy on here not too long ago called DropTopSilvia or something like that. His email is [email protected] He was thinking of parting out his S13 vert back in the fall. I don't know if he has anything anymore. He lives in the DC metro area. Give him a ring and see if he can hook you up.
