Vert speakers; what have you done?

Was shocked to see that there was no audio FAQs. And in the audio section I noticed there was nothing on verts.

So, fronts are 4x6 or 5x7? And rears from my understanding are 5.25s?

Think I'm gonna go for 6.5s in front and 5.25s with seperate tweeter in rear. Hopefully not too much mods needed.

But man I can't stand this 2 speakers working and stock tape player much longer.

Also anyone fit a sub under the top storage area in the trunk? Trying to keep some room back there.

Glyph should be able to answer your questions...he's done some audio mods. I think he's got 2 subs and an amp in his trunk.

I've only put in a new head unit...speakers will go in later on.

Wished I had that option. Right now the OEM deck display is basically gone. And 2 speakers are blown, the other 2 aren't far from it.

Sweet, had no clue there were pre-made adapters. I was just gonna make some. I've already ordered the 5.25s for rear and 6.5s for front, I'll need the room in the rear to mount the tweeter anyway.

This why there needed to be a vert audio discussion.

EDIT-- Anyone bought those and got them? Seller had some bad feedback on the ones for the 240, item never recieved. Scares me.

funny you say that..

first experience: never rec'd item, filed paypal complaint and rec'd my money back.

second experience: yea, foolish of me to try a second time but nobody else was making these for the price he was offering...rec'd it in a week. good stuff and even the screws were included.

uhh yea....i replaced my speakers 4X6 up front and 6 3/4 in back, most 6.5 will fit though with the outer brackets, check crutchfield, and dont go 5.25 in back when you can go 6.75, you wont get enough bass especially since its a vert.

So you are saying 6.5 for the front and 6.75 for the rear is good combo for vert?

I'm doing 5.25s in rear with side tweeter. But I'm doin a 10 or 12 in trunk for bass, so that should balance it out.

no 4x6 in front and 6.75 in back...thats factory sizing...

just do infinities in front and back, stock sizes for the vert. I'm running mine off my deck and they sound great...I also have 2 12" RF Punch S2 subs and a RF 800 Punch in a custom fiberglassed enclosure in the trunk. They highs sound good and subs pump with top down on freeway at 90mph. Well, they pump pretty good compared to stock ;P
