i just bought a 93 vert. from what i can tell i have all the comp boxes. both harnesses and and the dash harness and switches are intact...

i want to test out the top to see if it functions. i am trying to decide if this is project i have time for...

out side of hooking up a battery grounding it and installing the motor harness (mind you the motor and trans are out of the car) what else do i need to do to ensure i have a clear shot at finding out about the functionality of the top.

Obviously you'll need power from the battery to the top switch and the pump for the top cylinders.

But, you also need to have your transmission harness hooked up. The system requires a signal saying that the car is in park in order to work. Check out the 5 speed swap thread in the forum sticky.. it talks in great detail about the wiring for the top since people doing the 5 speed swap need to override that system in order to make the top work.

I don't know how much time you have... but the S13 convertible is a project that is WELL WORTH your time. It's a great car!

this may or may not help you....

i just spent a full week trying to troubleshoot my top, and you can 'hotwire' the hydraulic pump....

1. take the rear seat back out2. you'll see lots of wiring there, towards the passenger side of the vehicle, you'll see a relay that has 6 connectors, follow red and black to the motor3. there is a connector that can disconnect4. what i did was use one of those batteries for jumpstarting your car, and connect it to those wires. (yep - maybe not the brightest thing to do, but best way to test the motor)

my 2 cents..
