So ive noticed a smell of gas in my car after i replaced a dying fuel pump, thats due to the tank seal, it wont seal right.

So a few days ago i went into my buddys apartment complex and i got out for a second and noticed a trail of drips to a pullde under my car. I thought it was oil, and checked it out but it was ok. So i touched it and it smelt like gas. I checked the lines running from the fuel pump and they look OK to me. any thoughts/ ideas on what to check out

You must replace the seal(large o-ring). I thought I could reuse it but it expands over the time, so it won't go into the slot properly. I bet when you drive around gas comes out through there and you saw the drop. You might want to check those 2 fuel lines that you had to remove when you replace the fuel pump. I'm positive it should be one of those.

What he said... and lucky for us that part is dealer only part (at least when I did mine it was). Good place to start.

The pump seal is relatively inexpensive as well... surprisingly.

I agree, replace that seal and check the lines on the top of the pump.

mine leaks gas too. i believe the problem with mine is the tank itself. it could be leaking at the seam of the tank. when i drive it in the rain, water gets in it. LMAO my vert is such a piece.

Here's the part number. I think it was in $5-$10 range from the dealership. I put some grease to seal it tight.
