My sister is looking at a 93 black vert. The back window is all foggy, what can we do to clear up the back window? Also she needs the boot that goes over the top behind the rear seats. Where can we find that?

the material for the back window seems pretty sensitive to scratches and nicks... so i'm not sure how close to clear you can achieve

after i got my vert, i gave it its first bath and warm soap and water seemed to get rid of some of the grime and dirt that was blocking the view

also i think ive seen products that are supposed to specifically help convertible windows but ive never tried them.... and there's always the option of replacing it too (which i think i may do in the near future)

as for the boot... it seems like theyre semi-difficult to come by... i think there was a thread in this vert section about coming across boots... i have one and i don't really ever use it... i dont think its mandatory when the top is down...

anybody here think it makes a huge difference other than cosmetic and keeping foreign objects out?

good luck if you go for it man

Check our interiors forum, Ron has smoking deals on replacement rear windows.

The boots are hard to find, but they really clean up the appearance.

i never run with my boot because it's a PIMA for me to put it on and take it off. I will play with the top multiple times in a trip. I pretty much will only use it if I end up doing a professional photo shoot with the car.

Pep-Boys carries rear-window scratch remover ($5.99), I bought some the day I breought my 'Vert home and yes, it cleaned up the rear window a lot! However, my window was so FUBAR'd that it still looks like complete crap and I can barely see out of it.

So, depending on how fugged up the window is this stuff might help.

I returned the unsued portion the next day and bought Meguiars Body Scrub instead!

Hi, I'm my brother's sister (who would have thought?). I bought myself the car yesterday and the window is fogged up enough to where I can't see out of it. I ride with the top down as much as I can but at night it gets a bit too chilly and I feel uncomfortable not being able to look in my rearview mirror. I tried cleaning the sucka but it didnt really help. I'll have to try that scratch remover, but I might end up just having to get a new window sewn in.

i had a new window sewn into mine when it got cracked last winter. I think I payed around 200 for the old one to be cut out, and a new one to be sewn in.
