I just bought my 09 Versa S hatchback with 68k miles on it. A few days after I got it home it won't accel, won't rev up under load. Thought it was a bad tank of gas from sitting on the dealer lot, so I put iso-heet and fuel injector cleaner into it, and filled it up from 3/4 tank with 93 octane. It ran great until 3/4 of a tank, then it got worse. One day after letting it idle for about 10 minutes, it wouldn't go anywhere. It wouldn't go faster than 10 mph, and it wouldn't rev past 2k rpms. I managed to get it up to speed a couple times. Basically, I'd get to drive it for 3 minutes, it would act up, and I would have to leave it off for 15 minutes, repeat.
I drove the car to Nissan and they tell me it's the catalytic converter. Ok, that kinda makes sense. So I get a loaner and wait for a replacement, as it's covered by the 80k mile Emissions warranty. Well I get it back today and it is better, but still having the original issue. It won't rev past 4k, or 40mph in 2nd. If I up shift, i can get a little more out of it before it starts to lose power again. This is exactly what it did before they replaced the cat.
So I'm at a loss. Anyone else have this problem and get it resolved?
