I purchased the Versa this summer and it has been ok. Wind shield washers seemed a little anemic, but worked. I live in Michigan, as soon as it started getting cold washers stopped working. Dealer said I put plain h2o and they froze. I didn't.Recently did a trip to Colorado and back on 80. Could have gotten killed, washers barely worked. I filled with the good to 20 bellow washer fluid I use in other vehicles and dealer says that will still freeze. Right now their attitude seems to be, too bad its not a good design and I guess the washers won't work when its cold out. Has anyone else had this problem? This is a real safety hazard.

I haven't had that problem. When I was up north earlier this year, I had the stock fluid in the reservoir in -0 weather. I didn't have a problem with it freezing. Even after coming out one day to find my whole car encased in ice . -20 washer fluid will not cause problems until below -20. I'd suspect that there's a problem with the spray system itself when the weather's cold rather than things freezing within the system. I'd take it back in and complain that it's a safety issue and to have the whole system inspected. I suggest leaving your car up there overnight on a cold day so they can see it for themselves.

No problem down to -10F for me. I'm guessing there was some plain water fluid mixed in there. Next tiome it warms up... run the resevoir dry (don't run the motor for more than 30 seconds cont. l letting it cool for a minute inbetween)

I've been driving in -20 with no problems. Have you tried sticking a pin into the ends of the nozzels incase they are clogged? also... the piping could be loose, are there any leaks?

Sorry to say it, but like the rest of the guys here, I too haven't experienced any problems with front or rear washers in freezing weather..

Don't be offended when I ask, but by any chance have you waxed the car down and perhaps gotten some wax into the nozzles?
