The Tiida model name is used in all of the world except for USA and Canada. Tiida is equivalent to Versa hatch, while Tiida Latio is Versa sedan.

In Australia Tiida covers both body styles.I thought Latio was a higher spec?

I just went back and checked some Nissan web sites. It seems like the information I had on Latio was a little outdated. It should be as follows:

Tiida is used in most of the markets for both hatchback and sedan bodies. In Japan (and maybe few other markets), the sedan is called Latio. Before 2007, the sedan was called Tiida Latio. In Singapore, the Latio name is used in lieu of Tiida. Latio is the sedan, while Latio Sport is used for the hatch. In Japan, there is a high-end grade called AXIS.
