Up until now I have taken it for granted that the Versa Stock rim size was 15 by 5.5 (several posters have indicated it to be)

I just recieved my 4 'Take-Offs' from a seller who claimed that they were off a new 2007 Versa.

They sure don't look like narrow little rims, and they measure out 15X6.5.

To make the info even more formal, that's also what's stamped on the rims..15X61/2.

Have all the 15X 5.5 numbers I have been hearing for the rims been wrong?

These are definitly stamped, Nissan, made in Mexico, but at 6.5" wide I just might have 4 rims from something else from South of The Border?

From the Nissan Versa site:

15" x 5.5" Steel wheels with wheel covers 15" x 5.5" 6-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels P185/65HR15 All-season tires

15x6.5" sounds like it could be a Sentra.

Pics of the rims?

I just used the Edmonds link to the 2007 Sentra, and according to them, it takes P 205/55/16 tires on 16 X 6.5" rims.

Thanks for the Edmonds Link, are there any more Nissans built in Mexico that could account for the wider rims?

I did some serious diging today at 3 Nissan Parts counters and found my 6.5" rims are indeed for a Sentra.

2007 Sentra Wheels and Tires 15" x 6.5" Steel wheels with wheel covers 16" x 6.5" Steel wheels with wheel covers 16" x 6.5" 7-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels [W] P205/60HR15 Tires P205/55HR16 Tires

Seems that the steel 15" rims I have are standard on the El-Cheepo model Sentra. Now here's the strangest part of my search ...they are Dealership priced at $250.00 EACH!

Now all I have to find out is if the wider rims size and bolt pattern will cross over to the Versa without clearance problems...if so then I guess I am ready for a set of 4 new snow tires...

if not then I have 4 very expensive Nissan Sentra boat anchors sitting in the garage.

OK, I think we were confused before and thought you were referring to alloy rims, not steels.

If they are for the North American Sentra, they should be a 4x114.3 bolt pattern, which is correct for the Versa. (The SE-R uses a 5-lug 17" wheel, so you're safe)

Also, the 6.5" width will mount just fine, but you will probably need wider tires than normal. perhaps... 195/60/15 or 205/55/15?

So after much detective work and Versa Forum help, (thanks) the 6.5" Sentra rims now have a new set of 4 Hankook iPike W409's installed.

After searching the usuall internet links for prices, I got the best deal down at the local Pep Boys on their "Buy four and get One Free" sale. After my mail in rebate discount, the tires came to $49.95 each.

A couple of people at Pep Boys are running them on their own cars so there was lots of first hand praise for the tires.

The guy that did the ballance said they hardly needed any weights indicating a very well made and uniform tire.

They have a 'directional' winter tread design tho and can only be rotated front to back in pairs. Not a big deal IMHO.

I got 205 60 15's for the Sentra rims, that match up to the Versa stock 185 65 15 overall size except for the slight increase in width.

With the new set of Snazzy wheel covers, I have the Winter Versa ready to roll.

I have the same tires, but in the stock 185/65/15 size.

it says a lot bout the Contis that I believe this snow tire performs better in the dry than the contis.

I just bought 4 steel rims from our local auto store, "Canadian Tire" for $52 each plus 7% tax. Walmart didn't have them in stock & were $7 each more expensive. But I DID get winter specific tires from them. I went with a lowerprofile & wider P195-60-R15. Judging now in hindsight, I SHOULD have went with P205 or 215-60-R15. The tires I did put on sit a little lower than I anticipated. When it come time to replace the summer Conti's, I shall replace them with wider ones I spoke of.

One of the Nisan Parts Guys is running the same 195 60 size that you got, and he complained that his speedometer is out and his gas milage is a little worse as the tires are indeed a little smaller in over all hight than the stock 185 65's. hence they are makeing more rev's per mile.

Someone on this forum is actually running 215 70 15's those tires are a full 2" taller than stock, and with extra width, still claims no clearance issues, just wanted better MPG's and hated the look of little 185's.

My 205 60 15's are just a tad over stock size, with the most noticable difference in the width.

With the iPike Hankooks on the wider Sentra rims, they look like they would crawl up a wall. I hope thay are as good as everyone says, as we drive over the Continental divide north of Butte Montana, and the Monida pass, regularly in bad weather.

Hi, EVI am looking for 15X5.5" 4X114.3 steel rims for my p185/65R15 winter tires. However, most of the tire shops don't have this size. One tire shop has 15X6.5" 4X114.3 rims. Can this fit with the P185/65R15 tires?

according to tirerack.com, 185/65/15 will fit on a 15x6.5" wheel.

Also, I don't know if they have them in your area, but discount tire sells 15x6" steel winter wheels that are a little closer to the stock width. Probably a little lighter, too.

Thank you for your information. Will that 15x6.5" rim rub the suspension or any other parts? I tried to measure the offset (i.e. from the hub to the center of the wheel) and it is around 45 mm something. I am not sure about the measurement. How can I find the offset information on the wheels

There are marks read" 15x61/2J 09 07 53"

I've never tried the particular set of wheels you're talking about, so I don't know for sure.

However, we have members on here with 17"x7" wheels with 205 width tires that don't rub. As long as you're not running too tall of a tire, you're fine. And since you appear to want the stock size tire, it won't be a problem at all.

I think 7" wide wheels might be pushing the stock tires a bit. You'd probably want to go to something like a 195/60/15 or a 205/60/15. I don't know the answer on this for sure, so you would want to ask a tire installer before making a decision.

If you have to spend the money to get new tires, you'd probably want to upgrade an inch on the wheels to get a lower profile, stiffer sidewall. So that would put you at a 16x6.5 or 16x7 wheel, and the tires would be a 195/55/16, 205/55/16, or 215/50/16.

i do realize that the wheel will be really wide for the stock tires, but im going for that look (narrow tire wide wheel) ill try to find pic.
