Hello, Recently bought the Versa and immediately noticed the stock tires just squeaked too much. The stock tires are 185/65/r15. Rim=15x5.5"

According to net calculator 205 is the widest it can fit. If i want to stay with the stock wheels. Will 205/60/r15 give me any problems?

Thanks

Hmm, I honestly dont know much about 15x5.5's so I cant give you any advice on the tire size.

What I can tell you is that wider tires arent going to get rid of your "sqeaking" problem. Either the tire pressure is too low, or the econo-box tires simply arent cutting it for you. Instead of wider tires, I would suggest going with more of a performance oriented tire. Start looking around tire rack and see what your options are for such a weak size.

The stock tires are Continental ContiPro Contact. They seems to be in the mid price range at $63 per tire. Dont see why they will squeak that much. They squeak when accelerating, braking and cornering.

Man, I dunno wtf you are talking about. Tires don't squeak. Ever. Maybe it is some suspension component.

At any rate, running 205 width tires on 15x5.5 is a really bad idea. Stick with the stock width.

Do you mean they squeal? As in they're losing traction a bit? That has more to do with the tire compound than the width, especially on such a narrow wheel.

I'd suggest looking into some high performance street tires, and being in CA you don't have to worry about snow.

Yep. If this is true, then you need to stop driving your versa like a racecar, or get some wider wheels and stickier tires.
