I have the 6 speed 1.8 2010 sedan. Occasionally, when starting from a stop, I can't shift the gear into first gear. Anybody else have this problem?

I haven't yet, but then again, my car is less than 24 hours old. I would either put it in neutral and slide it into any other gear or even reverse and then try again. This usually "resets" the motions, if you will.

I've had 4 standard cars and this was fairly common in all of them. It's a linkage thing....something to do with the synchro ring. A mechanic friend explained it to me, years ago but I can't remember the details.

But it's nothing to worry about. If you have problems, try shifting into reverse, and then back into first again. Should link right up.

It's happened to me in just about every manual car I've driven at one point or another. Just slip it into neutral wiggle it let off the clutch then try again. If that fails go back into neutral keep on the clutch this time go to 1st then neutral and try 1st again and it should slip right in for you.

First time it happened to me years ago driving a friends car back home I had a bit of a panic as I was at a light that just turned green and it felt like the car didn't want to go into 1st for me! lol It's nothing that I know off (I'm no mechanic lol) that should cause any issues. The only issues I have here in America are the impatient automatic drivers that don't understand why I'm not accelerating fast the very second the light turns green.

I haven't had any issues with first gear. On the Versa and a few other manual cars I've had the same sort of issue with reverse. For me, just putting it in neutral and pushing the clutch in, then letting it off did the trick.
