I thought i had valve train noise. It would go away after warming up 27,000 mile on the car. I took it to the dealer they said it had a bad bearing and they are replacing the engine with a new Long block. Anyone else with this issue?? Replacement scares me although it's covered by warrenty i'm afraid of the Incidentals that could happen after the fact.

The Dealer has a new long block for the car. Does anyone know if there is a certain year motor that could give me issues or are they all the same through the years?

if my ticking and slapping doesn't diminish soon, i'm going as well and get them to check the engine.
it's warming up weather-wise and still makes a bit of noise.

I ended up have 2 and 3 cyl rod issues and rings with metal in the cylinder area according to the report.
I have drove this all freeway miles never going over 3000 rpm. Usually 2600 rpms. except passing.
They gave me a cube w/37000 check engine lite on and makes similar noise on early start up/ MMMMMMMMMMMM
Scares me
thinking HONDA although i hate the size

In reply to the original post, I have the "suspected valve train noise" also. I hadn't considered it a big deal but will plan a trip to the dealership to have them look at it. I wouldn't expect anything more than a blow me off attitude over a little valve train noise from the dealership. Never dreamed someone getting a new engine out of something like this. I will try to post back what the dealership says. I don't visit the forum too often anymore. Versa has 42,000 miles on it, and has had regular oil changes in the 3000 to 4000 mile interval.
