Versa Sedan Custom LED 3rd Brake Light

Has anyone modded their 3rd brake light in the sedan? My system has shattered the red plastic reflector and is no longer functional. I assume i could somehow mount an aftermarket LED in between the black housing and backglass if i can find one small enough as most are for pickups. Has anyone tried this or have any ideas? Not trying to spend 130 on an OEM housing that will just break again anyway.
