Check the "Sedan" website. There is the typically disclaimer saying that the prices and option availability are subject to change. In checking the site the computer screens WILL allow you to order the Convenience Pkg AND the ABS, either alone or in combination.

Since I prefer the Sedan look AND a chance to get ABS along w/Conv. Pkg I'm much more likely to get the Sedan..........and the availability of a few more colors (not avail. on Hatchback) is just the "frosting" on the cake!

BTW, has anyone heard anything more definite of the Sedan's availability?I should also mention that I read something on the net stating that Nissan is opening up ANOTHER plant in Mexico for production of the Versa/Sedan as they can't seem to keep up with the demand. Perhaps I read into it but it appears there may be a delay in getting the Sedan to market.

As of 11/29, Nissan started producing producing the hatch at the Cuernavaca plant. We may not see the same problem with the sedan that we saw with the hatch since the sedan can be produced a 2 factories potentially from the start. Of course, at the beginning we will see some scarcity because there probably won't be any stockpiles. I haven't heard of which and how many plants they plan to use for the sedan. I haven't heard of production starting on the sedan, so I can't provide any real information on the availability.

If Nissan gives the sedan both options simultaneously, I'm going to scream.

Feel free to scream..

From my understanding, this is a change that will be rolled out for the hatch as well. Not sure if they when they will do it for 07 hatches, but it's definitely a change for 08s..

Is this really a surprise to you all? Because it's really old news. I mean, it was stated, I think, back in March or something that ABS would be available on the Versa sedan, but "might" be an option for the hatch. Turns out it wasn't even an option when I got mine, but I could really care less. I mean, there was a time when ABS didn't exist, and folks did alright. I couldn't care less whether a car has ABS or not, and wouldn't pay more to get it myself, but if it's a deal breaker for you... hey. Lastly, I want to mention I did think about holding out for the hatch, but I looked at the pictures and found it reminded me of the Toyota Echo sedan, and decided small cars like the Versa look better as a hatchback than as a sedan. But that's just my opinion, so...

"A sedan" sounds like they were hoping to get rid of another 06 Sentra... something they haven't been able to do because both the Versa and the new Sentra hopelessy outclass the old Sentra.

Versa sedans aren't supposed to be out until January at the earliest. Did you actually physically see the Versa sedan?

Not saying I know for sure one way or the other about ABS, but that argument doesn't really hold up. Someone could say the same for airbags or inflatable tires or cars in general. People always did alright but cars are much safer these days than even a decade ago.

Do you mean you almost held out for a sedan?

Same thing goes for seat belts. Lots of people refused to wear them because they were just fine before. ABS is a pretty good option for the V. A lot of users are complaining that the V likes to fishtail under panic braking. That could pose a serious danger for someone who doesn't know how to control a fishtail. But on the other side of the argument, ABS could be just as dangerous if you don't know how to use it. A lot of people freak out and take their foot off the brake because of the vibrations. They think the brakes failed and they need to pump them.

My dealer ordered my Versa HB SL 6M with conv + ABS (and premium sound) without any complaints. Maybe they've been quiet about the combo? Maybe it worked because I needed to order from the factory?

Or your order will get rejected in a few weeks because it's an invalid configuration. Remember, you're not actually special ordering a car from the factory. Your dealership is requesting a specific configuration from the cars already being built at the factory. If a specific combination is not built or does not exist, you will not get the car.
