It's actually about the same size as the V, but with more upright seating. From what I've read in press releases, the manual will be close ratio like the Vs, so it should feel about as peppy as the V. The CVT will carried over from the V as well. So it's basically a V in different packaging.
The dash is very nice in person. And, overall, the interior is a generation ahead of the Versa both in terms if design and materials/quality. The climate control system is also much nicer. The shag dash mat is um... yes, odd. Not sure what they were thinking.
As for the ripple design of the headliner and the speaker grilles, they are nothing more but design elements. Something to make it different and less mundane; inspired by ripples created from water drops.
Those hating it better think twice. The cube was very well received at the LA unveiling and will attract interest and attention on the 1.8L. There is probably a greater likelihood of tuning parts being developed for it than ever.
