wouldnt it be weaker in performance as it is bigger than the V but uses the same engine specs.

I read it was shorter and a bit lighter than the V.

I wonder about highway mileage and X winds and that upright windshield chipped/cracked by rocks.. May not be any big deal. Looks interesting.

It's actually about the same size as the V, but with more upright seating. From what I've read in press releases, the manual will be close ratio like the Vs, so it should feel about as peppy as the V. The CVT will carried over from the V as well. So it's basically a V in different packaging.

The dash is very nice in person. And, overall, the interior is a generation ahead of the Versa both in terms if design and materials/quality. The climate control system is also much nicer. The shag dash mat is um... yes, odd. Not sure what they were thinking.

As for the ripple design of the headliner and the speaker grilles, they are nothing more but design elements. Something to make it different and less mundane; inspired by ripples created from water drops.

Those hating it better think twice. The cube was very well received at the LA unveiling and will attract interest and attention on the 1.8L. There is probably a greater likelihood of tuning parts being developed for it than ever.

the shag on the dash reminds me less of a soul patch as it does of the other kind of curlies... ugh.Definitely not something you want to look at every day.

i think its going to be the latest craze... just like the tuner scene flocked to the scion xb, hopefully if that happens then we will see some kind of trickle of aftermarket parts for the MR18... lets just hope...

Fear not. The shag is optional.

The Cube is a cool car has a lot of potential and a unique look.. I think a lot of people will line up for this one..

I will take a look at them when they come to town for sure.

The same day of the reveal at the LA Auto Show, I was there and through out the entire day there was a crowd of no fewer than 30 people around the cube. From 9 am to early evening when the rest of the convention center was basically deserted. Regardless what the haters say, this thing will sell.

I think it will be a fad car. One that will sell really well at first for consumers. Also for a business vehicle because it is unique...kinda like how the VW Bug and PT Cruiser were put in to business service right away due to their looks.

But after that, it'll probably fade.

According to Automotive News the new cube will be sold with a Nismo PKG. which may include in upgraded engine performance with more HP.

The cube uses the same engine as our V's and just thinking out loud maybe factory support upgrade for the Versa may be soon coming!

i thought that was funny

im not too into how it looks, personally i think i would have to see it in person to actually like it, IMO its one of those things where the pictures give it no justice. but i do hope as skunk has said that the aftermarket and tuner scene take a liking to it so we can have more parts for the V

Would have to go with the shag. Turn the cube into a "shaggin wagon".

I think that the "shagg" option should stay out of cars....I saw one at the auto show in Portland, interesting, but not quite my cup of tea. They wouldn't let us touch it...only look. Hmmm....we'll see how well it does. I wish the best.

More pics from the Auto Show in Toronto last week. Minor changes to the old interior: The steering wheel now comes upsidedown and slightly crooked with the wheels pointing straight.

I'm not sure whose idea it was to use football players to show off a compact car. Shouldn't they have stuck with the Japanese girls to make the interior seem roomy? Then again, they are CFL players, so they're not that big.

If you need a vehicle that can easily haul 26 little cardboard cubes than this is the one for you.

Where did you get the figure 26? I've seen the xb hold 23 but in my line of work I need a car that can hold at LEAST 25.
