1) For what is reccommended, please read your owner's manual.

2) For oil... I used the search button and searched for "oil" in the Versa forum and came up with the following threads:

And many, many more. But you get the point.

It will take any oil that meets the manufacturers specifications.

If you got search results from the whole forum, then you did not select a forum to search. When I did my results, I selected only the Versa forum in the drop-down menu.

Just FYI.

I've been running Mobile 5W-30 conventional oil. Hasn't seized yet!

(for those of you in New York, NY, I use "Fitty Dubya Tritty, O'Skoo").

The recommended oil for the Versa and the Rogue is 5W-30, with an API SM rating. The SM rating is important. Not all oils meet that spec. I would strongly suggest you shy away from any other "weights" than 5W-30.

And...

Aside from some high-performance engines where synthetic is required, synthetic and 'conventional' can be used interchangeably in just about every modern car. Even from oil change to change. They can even be mixed. Claims otherwise are usually the result of synthetic oil myths that have persisted for several decades.

Anyway, I use Mobil 1 full synth on my cars.
