Versa Oil Change intervals

Hey guys, I was wondering how often you change your oil. Ive got the 1.8 engine, do a 60/40 mix of highway/city. Car has 3K miles on it, just switched to 5W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic with a mobil 1 filter. I was wondering if 6 months/7500 miles is a reasonable change interval, or if i should change it earlier. Will the oil filter last 7500 miles, or should I be changing it more often than that. Thanks for the help!

What do you use your car for? Just going to work, or part of work? Weekend fun? After you decide, you can do one of 2 choices. Follow the manual and do it to theirintervals, or if its under heavy use do it sooner. If the manual says something like 5000 miles, and you only use it to go to work, then do the 5000 miles, if you have fun with your car on the weekends at the track or something like that, then you would have to do it sooner. In my opinion I wouldn't use the oil all the way to 7500 miles. That filter blocks finer micron particles, it would take less to clog it up.

I'm with Nodes.

1st change 1500, 2nd 3000. From here on 3K changes with Wix or OEM filters. I am going to use regular oil. I will save the good synthetic for my other cars.

i use castrol syntec 5w-30. i change it every 5000 miles (after changing it every 3000 miles until about 15000 miles) and i dont worry about time between changes. and i use a k&n filter.

my dealer had me come in at 6000 kms. dino oil.i won't change to synthetic until around 10000 kms.
