" Some tiny cars, like the MINI Cooper, are the opposite of boring. Then there's the Versa. The Nissan is one of the roomiest small cars on the market, but being the closest thing to a minivan among compact cars isn't a ringing endorsement for fun. Throw in frumpy looks and flavorless performance, especially compared with the zestier Honda Fit, and the Nissan must make a virtue of pure practicality.

Haters.. :rotfl

I have to admit the Versa is pretty boring with automatic transmission but that's what the aftermarket parts are for.

PS. the article is pretty stupid.

These were my pre-requisites for buying a new car:

1.) We have a lot of friends and family visiting from back home so I need 4 doors
2.) It has to be roomy enough for 4-5 adults
3.) We're going to be moving in February so it needs to be able to transport a decent amount of stuff
4.) Has to have air conditioning for Atlanta summers
5.) Biggest factor: Has to be $12K or less

Winner: NISSAN VERSA

Let them hate, it's the perfect car for what I need.

Its sad but true. In stock form and even with MT its rather boring. But it serves its purpose perfectly. Just takes some mods (especially suspension) to be less boring.

It may not pack the "wow" factor but the Versa is clearly very good at a lot more things than the other cars in it's class. "Versa" as in "versatility." I don't think it was ever intended to compete in against more sporty but less comfortable, lighter vehicles with stiffer suspensions.

Sounds an awful lot like all those Car & Driver and Motor Trend car reviews over the years. If the car couldn't burn rubber when hitting passing gear at 70 mph it was always "underpowered." They never met a car getting over 15 mpg they liked. They never considered what the car was designed to do and what segment of the market the manufacturer intended it for.

If dependable, comfortable and versatile is boring then I like boring.

I agree here....

The car IS indeed a boring ride when stock. After mods... sure it's much better. But at the end, a Versa is a Versa.. Great communitarian car, MPG is good, roomy, QUIET, and does blend in well.

People can say whatever they like, I love my Versa.

I've made it into something different that no one else has and I love that fact! It sure is a fun car and I get people coming up to me everyday to ask if my car was custom ordered :D The Fit is just plain old ugly ... the Versa is cute :D

I'm not too sure why the Aveo, nor some other cars didn't make that list but the ones on there did. Alot of those aren't boring.

Versa the car they love to hate! not surprising if it wasn't for haters how would you know how good your doing..

Versa has some bad traits,

1) Low entry price
2) Good fuel milage
3) Comfortable ride
4) Top safety pick 4 years in a row
5) MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL on MSN's 10 Most Boring Cars List :bs:

What will we ever do??? :gotme

To the experts at MSN :slap:
